Attribution Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in using images from Camarts. To protect the creator’s rights and ensure consistent editorial use, please follow these guidelines carefully.

Before using any image, ensure you have purchased a valid license for each photo. These guidelines apply only to Editorial Use licenses. Private Use licenses do not allow any form of distribution, and Commercial Use requires a dedicated license.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, please contact us directly.

General Requirements

Mandatory Credit Line

Every image used must be accompanied by the following credit line (in English or localized to match the language of your content, e.g., "Photo by" translated appropriately):

Photo by Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.

or

Photo credit: Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.

Whenever the medium supports hyperlinks (e.g., websites, blogs, certain social platforms), the credit must include live, clickable links. You have two options for hyperlinking:

HTML Example (with recommended rel tags):

html
<p style="font-size:10pt; color:#000;">
  Photo by
  <a href="https://www.dandyweng.com" target="_blank" rel="external author">
    Tianxin Weng
  </a> /
  <a href="https://camarts.app" target="_blank" rel="external author">
    Camarts Inc.
  </a>
</p>

Markdown Example:

md
Photo by [Tianxin Weng](https://www.dandyweng.com){:target="_blank" rel="external author"} / [Camarts Inc](https://camarts.app){:target="_blank" rel="external author"}.

Link the entire credit line to the photo’s page on Camarts (e.g., [https://camarts.app/c9a]). The photo URL can be found on your license.

HTML Example:

html
<p style="font-size:10pt; color:#000;">
  <a href="https://camarts.app/c9a" target="_blank" rel="external author">
    Photo by Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.
  </a>
</p>

Markdown Example:

md
[Photo by Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.](https://camarts.app/c9a){:target="_blank" rel="external author"}

Option C: Omit "Inc." When Space Is Limited

If your layout or design severely restricts text space (e.g., small lower-third), it is acceptable to simplify to:

Photo: Tianxin Weng/Camarts

Placement

  • The credit must be placed either immediately below or next to the image.
  • If that is not possible (e.g., in video or certain social contexts), the credit must appear in a clearly visible location or be stated verbally (videos) or in the closing credits.

Visibility and Legibility

  • Font Size: At least 10 pt (or equivalent size in digital media).

  • Color Contrast: Ensure a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 (per WCAG guidelines) between text and background. For example, black text on a white background (or white text on a black background) typically meets this standard. If the background is an image, include a contrasting text outline or bounding box that ensures at least 4.5:1 contrast. This helps maintain legibility for all readers.

  • Overlay Recommendation: If you are posting the image as-is (i.e., not adding other overlays), it is highly recommended to place a visible text overlay with the credit line on the bottom corner of the image, abiding by the same visibility and legibility rules.

Resolution and Derivative Works

  • Recommended Maximum Display Size: When the image is displayed as-is (no additional design or text overlay), limit the resolution to 1920px on the longer edge.

  • Higher-Resolution Policy: If you have licensed images over 2K resolution (e.g., 4K), you must not post the high-resolution version as-is. Such high-res files can only be used in derivative works (e.g., part of a video, poster with text or designs layered on top, etc.).

Localization of Photographer’s Name

The photographer’s can be written as 翁天信 in Chinese or Japanese contexts, but Camarts Inc. must not be translated.

Example: 摄影:翁天信 / Camarts Inc.

Non-Profit Restriction

These images can only be used for non-profit editorial purposes where no profit or income is generated from their use. You must not redistribute or resell these images as-is or as part of derivative works, stock libraries, photo bundles, or similar services or merchandise.

Any direct or indirect income-generating use (e.g., ads, sponsored posts, monetized videos, paywalled content, brand promotions, product endorsements, or selling the images as-is or as part of derivative works) is strictly prohibited without a separate Commercial Use license.

Please refer to the Editorial Use License Agreement for more details.

Attribution Examples

Below are more detailed examples illustrating how and where to provide attribution, depending on the platform or format. Ensure you follow the requirements described in the General Requirements section.

Blog Posts

  • Place the credit line directly below or next to the image.
  • Use a smaller image size (maximum 1920px on the longer edge) if displayed as-is.
  • Localize “Photo by” or “Photo credit” to match your blog’s language.
  • Ensure the overall blog or website is not generating profit from displaying the image (e.g., no ads or paywall). If it does, a commercial license is required.

Example C (Overlay Recommendation):

If you post a standalone image, overlay text at the bottom corner:

  • White text on dark background or black text on light background.
  • Font at least 10pt for clarity.

News Articles

  • For online: place the credit line beneath each image or in the photo caption area.
  • For print: position the credit line immediately below the image in a caption.
  • Maintain at least 10pt text size and good contrast.
  • Must be for non-profit editorial coverage only.

(Localize “Photo by” if needed, e.g., in French “Photo par…”)

Videos

  • If the image appears in a video as a still or background, the credit must be displayed on-screen or in end credits.
  • Overlay text on the video during or immediately after showing the image.
  • Use a minimum 10pt font size (scaled for typical screen resolutions), and keep it on-screen long enough to be readable (approx. 2 seconds or more).
  • For non-profit video content only (no monetization, no paid sponsorship, etc.).

Example A (On-Screen Text):

Text Overlay (bottom corner):

(Overlay for at least 2 seconds)

Example B (End Credits Roll):

(If multiple images from multiple sources, differentiate them clearly.)

Social Media

  • You may use the original “Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.” or the handle “@dandyweng” (recommended consistency if the platform supports tagging).
  • Include hyperlinks when possible.
  • Always include “/ Camarts Inc.” (with optional hyperlink).
  • In the caption or pinned comment, ensure it’s clearly visible.
  • Overlay credit on the image if posted by itself with no caption possibility.
  • Must not be monetized or used in any commercial manner.

Plain-Text Example:

md
"Exploring this beautiful sunset!
Photo by @dandyweng / Camarts Inc."
md

Printing

Allowed Items:

Newspapers, magazines, textbooks, brochures, exhibition materials, and similar media are permitted, provided they operate on a strictly non-profit basis. This content must be used solely for editorial or educational purposes, with no direct or indirect financial gain.

Key Points:

  • Overlay or print the credit line on/near the image with at least 10pt font.
  • It must be part of a derivative work, e.g., overlaid text, or integrated into a larger design—not posted or printed as a standalone piece.

Example (Magazine Caption):

Photo by Tianxin Weng / Camarts Inc.

(Or localized, e.g., “Foto por…”)
